I read the name again before showing Amelia. She took the phone from me and stared at the message. Someone had walked into Ethan's school pretending to be Emilia. Until we saw the security footage, we couldn't know whether Emilia was involved or someone was trying to make sure her name led straight back to her.
"Call her."
I called Emilia immediately. She answered after several rings, sounding irritated. I didn't give her time to ask why I was calling.
"Did you go to Ethan's school yesterday?"
"What?"
"Answer me."
"No."
Amelia held out her hand for the phone. I gave it to her and watched as she moved away from the table. Whatever patience she'd had left for Emilia was gone.
"Someone went to my son's school using your name."
Emilia didn't answer right away. "My name?"
