I asked Daniel whether investigators could identify the document from the footage. He explained that the company name was visible, but the rest of the page couldn't be read. Laura had only removed the envelope for a few seconds before putting it away. I wanted to know why she had a photograph of Ethan beside a Cross Holdings document.
"Can they locate Laura?"
"They're checking cameras outside the station."
"Has she returned to her car?"
"No."
Daniel explained that Laura had walked toward a nearby shopping area after leaving the station. Officers were checking businesses along the street, hoping to establish where she went. They had also requested information about the taxi Rebecca entered.
"Tell the police about the missing agreement."
"I already have."
"Good."
