Mary Ann’s POV I did not open Velvera’s second letter immediately. The first one had only asked permission to send a wedding gift. That had already been strange enough. Now a second envelope sat on my desk in the Luna Wing, sealed with the mark of the Nightveil rehabilitation facility. Greta stood near the door. “Do you want me to leave?” I looked at the letter. “Yes.” She nodded. Then paused. “Should I send for Alpha Modric?” “No.” Another nod. No questions. I appreciated that.
