The second we reached a quiet corner where no one could overhear us, I stopped bothering with polite small talk.
“Gary Hirsch, you pulled me away from everyone in the middle of a gathering. What exactly do you want to talk about?”
I honestly couldn’t think of anything I needed to discuss with him.
Gary and Jaxen had grown up together—same social circle.
There was a strong possibility that Gary would inform someone if he learned Ryan and I were “dating.”
And eventually Jaxen would hear about it.
Gary had never been great at keeping things to himself.
And the way he’d suddenly pulled me aside had already made me uncomfortable.

“You and Ryan Parker are dating. Does Jaxen know?”
