Scarlett POV
I’d walked out of Ryan’s office less than five minutes ago, and Jack already knew.
He didn’t wait long. “Ms. Ravencroft, are you still there?”
Jack had been Ryan’s assistant before me.
He knew exactly why I’d been brought in. He also knew Ryan hadn’t been thrilled with him.
Finding out I’d not only stayed but gotten a raise, and now I was leaving with almost no warning, must have thrown him.
My leaving didn’t actually help him much.
Ryan would just pull him back temporarily until he found someone new, and then Jack would have to train another person all over again.
His impatience pushed me to answer with a question of my own.
“Before I say anything, can you tell me how you found out?”
“Mr. Parker called me a few minutes ago.”
