The moment Scarlett said Gary Hirsch was bothering her, I assumed he’d started pursuing her again.
I watched her hesitate before me.
My expression turned colder.
Then she shook her head.
“He hasn’t been pursuing me.”
“Then what happened?” I glanced at the door she’d just slammed. “You looked furious a minute ago.”
The truth was, I was the source of most of her problems.
Even if I went after Gary, it wouldn’t change much about her life.
Scarlett pursed her lips.
“He said some things I didn’t like.”
I stared at her, trying to work out what she wanted.
“Are you just venting, or do you want me to deal with him?”
She seemed to be thinking something like: You’d be more useful if you dealt with yourself.
“Forget it. It’s not that serious.” She waved a hand.
