I was about to say something when Jaxen’s eyes narrowed.
“Is that why you came after me? Because you’re worried about her?”
“Technically, I wouldn’t call it chasing you.” I turned my head away and let out a short scoff.
I’d waited a full three minutes after he left the private room before I followed.
We just walked out one after the other.
That wasn’t the same thing.
I looked out the window. The full moon hung bright in the sky.
For a second, I wondered if it was making whatever was going on with him worse.
“No wonder she was smiling so sweetly,” I said.
“Hmm?”
“She called you handsome.”
