I heard Scarlett tell someone on the phone that she was going to the hospital with Delaney.
Something about that didn’t sit right with me.
I immediately thought of Winston Jackson.
Ever since I’d cut ties with Gary Hirsch, Winston and I had barely spoken.
I picked up my phone and called him.
He answered after a moment.
“Jaxen? You called me?”
I didn’t bother with small talk.
“Did you do something to Delaney?”
Winston went silent.
I could practically picture the confusion on his face
“I swear I have done nothing to Delaney. Jaxen, are you sure you didn’t get the wrong information?”
“You have done nothing to Delaney? Then why is she going to the obstetrics and gynecology department? Is she pregnant?”
I hadn’t wanted to jump to conclusions about Winston.
