Before coming over with the things, I’d already checked with Delaney. I knew better than to linger in Scarlett’s home when I wasn’t wanted, so I didn’t stay a minute longer than necessary.
After exchanging a few words with Scarlett, I left her to whatever she was doing and headed out.
Not everything I’d bought this time was for Delaney.
Before leaving, I realized I hadn’t seen Scarlett anywhere, so I pulled out my phone and sent her a message.
The pink bag is a gift for you. Just a little something to thank you for putting up with me bothering you so often. Please accept it.
Scarlett wasn’t the person who checked her phone every few minutes, so I didn’t expect her to see it right away.
