Jack POV
On my way to Mr. Parker’s office, I couldn’t stop wondering about Scarlett’s question.
Why had she suddenly asked me that?
It made little sense.
I walked into the office with the question still bothering me, only to find Mr. Parker looking up from his desk.
“Scarlett just submitted her resignation,” he said. “Has she ever mentioned anything to you about what she doesn’t like about the company?”
For a second, I just stared at him.
He’d called me in through the internal line, so I’d assumed he had another task for me. I hadn’t expected to be questioned about Scarlett, especially about her resignation.
“Mr. Parker, Scarlett hasn’t told me anything.”
