A few hours ago, I’d tried the soft approach with Jaxen.
Stay calm. Be a little kinder. Maybe he’d finally see how far over the line he’d gone.
Turns out being nice to him was a total waste of time.
So I stopped trying to be reasonable and just let him have it.
I started with the car accident that apparently scrambled his brain, then moved on to how he’d locked me out of the outside world and dragged me to this godforsaken rock in the middle of nowhere.
“Jaxen, wrecking your life over a woman isn’t worth it. Hand over whatever you’re using to keep me cut off, and I’ll let it go. Otherwise, the second I’m home, I’m calling the cops.
