Scarlett POV
Watching him look for another movie, I suddenly remembered something.
“Looks like you're not triggered by the subject of children anymore.”
I touched my stomach.
I still vividly remembered the way he'd stared at me with fury and accused me of killing our unborn child.
“Yeah.”
He shrugged as he selected another film.
“I remembered what a child is supposed to mean.”
“What does that even mean? You made up the whole thing about us having a child. What exactly did you remember?”
I couldn't think of anything in our past that could have convinced him we had an unborn child.
Jaxen had no intention of answering my questions.
He simply settled in to watch the movie.
I grabbed his hand and tried to get him to tell me, but he refused to give me anything.
