I was buried in my laptop, tweaking the afternoon meeting agenda, when my phone buzzed on the desk.
Some random number lit up the screen. I glanced at it, ready to ignore the call, but it rang again right away.
I let out a long breath and swiped to answer.
“Hello, this is someone from Bloom & Thorn Florist. Am I speaking with Ms. Ravencroft?”
Florist? My fingers paused mid-air, then drifted up to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear without thinking. Flowers? When the hell did I order flowers?
“Yeah, that’s me.” My brain flipped through recent online orders.
