Scarlett POV
I was heading out the door when Susan caught my arm.
“Hey, are you free for dinner? And… you cool hanging with a couple guys?”
I blinked, the words not quite landing. “What?”
She waved her hands quickly, as if she could see the wrong idea forming in my head.
“I didn’t just invite you; I’ve got a few other people coming. They’ll be here any minute.”
“A couple of guys?” My brow pulled tight. I wasn’t in the mood for some loud, dude-heavy scene. If it got too much, I’d bail with a fake excuse.
“Just two or three. To keep me company while we eat.”
“You need three dudes just to eat dinner?” I shot her a longer look.
Susan read me instantly and laughed, shaking her head.
“Oh my God, no, not like that. I’ve got a boyfriend, remember? This is totally normal.”
