"Are you going out?" Kat asks me. She arrived a while ago from the medical center. Now she's coming down the stairs.
I give her a small smile and nod. "Yes, I was just about to tell you. I'm going for a walk. Sorry, I'll invite you another time. But today I want to be alone."
She gives me a slight smile and just nods. She knows I'm not at my best.
I grab the car keys and drive somewhere nearby. Arnie's bar seems like the best choice. I don't want to drive a long distance, and people there know me. If I get a bit too drunk, they can bring me back without a problem.
I get there and they direct me to a private room. I don't want company at the bar. I really want to be alone.
I order a drink and it doesn't take long to arrive. As I drink, I watch the people having fun on the dance
