The sentence had just been announced for Stephanie and Jasper, and the courtroom cleared out a little at a time. I was sitting out on the second row in the gallery next to Gabi, Percy, Sloan, and Dawson as we waited. My father approached the Council with my mother, and I watched as they spoke with the council for a few minutes before motioning Gabi over to where they were speaking.
