“I’m going to kill Arturo.”
That is the first thing Lorenzo says when he sees me. His hand touches my face as he examines me, making sure I am still in one piece.
“He had no choice but to leave me. Did everyone get out?”
“No. One of us is still inside the house, and I know Nero called in more men.”
“And we’ve already lost too many,” I point out. “Where is he?”
“He never came out of the house. I don’t know what the f**k is going on in there.”
“The exit through the gate has been blocked.”
For a moment, I smile.
“Do you like climbing walls?”
“I have a feeling that’s your specialty.”
He points me toward the safest route out of the property, and I realize it will be a long way before we reach a place where escaping is even possible.
