For a brief second, I had really forgotten about the problem of the world and the problem of knowing that Leo existed, but here she was after having 40 minutes of a pleasure Leo couldn’t give her, back to staring at the treathening messages he wouldn’t stop sending.
The warmth that had wrapped around my body moments ago faded slowly, replaced by a familiar tightness in my chest.
My heart leaped in fear and concern.
The screen felt heavier in my hand, like it carried more than just words. It carried memories. Warnings. Promises I knew he was capable of keeping.
