"I’d love to. That sounds like a fantastic idea. Are you sure you're up for it?" he asked.
"Hell yeah," I replied enthusiastically. But just as we were about to move, a guard came to the back door and informed me I had a visitor. I stepped inside the foyer and was surprised to see Carmen with Stefan and Jensen. For once, they were dressed in normal clothes.
I welcomed them in and offered everyone a cup of coffee. We settled into the dining room and started talking.
"I really just wanted to thank you. You kept your promise. You said you’d bring them back to me, and you did," Carmen said, her eyes filling with tears.
