"I can handle myself," I said defiantly. "I know you can. But not against a pack of rogues," he said, moving closer and kneeling down beside me. "Just go, Alpha. I don't need your help," I insisted. "Is this about what happened this morning? I had to leave because we believed there were rogues near the border again," he explained, reaching out to stroke my hair. I pushed his hand away, stood up, and grabbed my bag, starting to walk deeper into the woods as he followed. "What’s going on, Madison?" he pressed. "I'm not letting you do it," I stated firmly. "Do what?" he asked, confusion written all over his face. I dropped my bag to the ground and turned to face him directly. "Reject me, you i***t!" I shouted, unable to keep my emotions in check. He froze, his eyes wide in disbelief.
