Sage went to the party because staying at the mansion suddenly felt worse.
She had spent the entire afternoon trying not to think about Mason standing beside Scarlett at the clinic, Scarlett smiling at him as though she had already claimed a place that Sage had once thought was hers. She knew she had no right to be jealous. She was the one who had pushed Mason away. She was the one who had told herself that she needed space.
