The fire exploded across the mechanic bay so quickly that for a moment, nobody moved.

She had seen him walk inside only moments ago.
She had watched him disappear between the tool cabinets and the old lift near the rear service bay.
Her stomach dropped. "Where's Jace?"
Nobody answered and the fire grew louder.
Boone grabbed the nearest extinguisher and shouted for everyone to move away from the fuel storage area. Axel was already reaching for another extinguisher.
"Nobody goes near the electrical panel until we know what's burning. Kill the main breaker if you can get to it safely, and keep everyone away from the fuel cans."
Sage barely heard him and her gaze remained fixed on the smoke.
