Sage had one hand on the doorknob when a body appeared behind her, blocking the entrance.
She stopped and looked over her shoulder.
Jace stood there with one hand against the door, his expression serious enough to ruin the little excitement she'd managed to gather about returning to school.
"What now?" she asked impatiently.
"You're not going anywhere alone."
Sage turned fully toward him. "Excuse me?"
"It's not safe for you to go to school by yourself. There are men watching the mansion, and we've received information that Damien has people outside the property. Until we know what they're planning, you're staying with somebody."
