Chapter 11
Sage's POV
"I came to take you home." The words settled over the airport terminal like a storm cloud.
Sage couldn't breathe. For six years, she had imagined this moment in countless ways.
Sometimes she imagined seeing Damien in a crowd and running. Sometimes she imagined screaming at him. Sometimes she imagined finally being brave enough to tell him exactly what he was.
But none of those fantasies had prepared her for reality. Because Damien wasn't glaring at her. He wasn't threatening her. He wasn't even angry. He was smiling and that was what made him terrifying.
Damien Blackwood looked like the perfect husband. His expensive coat fit him perfectly. His dark hair was neatly styled. His smile was warm enough to fool anyone who didn't know him..... anyone except Sage.
