The rain pattered softly against the windows as Marcel and I moved around the kitchen, preparing dinner. The aroma of spices filled the air, creating a cozy atmosphere despite the storm outside.
My phone buzzed on the counter, and I quickly wiped my hands before picking it up.
"Hey, Caspian," I answered, a smile already tugging at my lips.
"Hey, beautiful," his voice came through, warm and familiar. "I was thinking of taking you on a date... Season 2 of my favorite movie is out in theaters. How about we catch it together tonight?"
My heart fluttered. "I would love that."
Marcel, overhearing the conversation, leaned in with a mischievous grin. "Mind if I tag along, Caspian?"
Caspian hissed on the other end. "Sorry, Marcel. This one is just for Ava and me."
