I’d told Nikolai I would call him after work.
He called me immediately it was five o’clock in the evening. I didn’t pick up though. I only returned his calls after I was at home.
“What did Elena say to you, baby?” He questioned as soon as he answered the call. “Were you crying? What happened?”
I chuckled. He was freaking out because of the articles, but I couldn’t be bothered about those. I had a more pressing issue. I wasn’t sure how to tell Lila and Tessa about what Noelle had done. I didn’t want to force them to choose sides, but I knew I’d be pretty hurt if they chose her over me
“Elena didn’t make me cry,” I assured him. “If anything, she looked like she was about to cry after I left.”
