“Have you guys been in touch with Noelle?”
Lila and Tessa exchanged a glance at my question.
I laughed. “I’m not forbidding you from staying in touch. I was just wondering.”
“No,” Lila finally replied. “I haven’t spoken to her since that day.”
“I tried calling her once after that. She didn’t respond. I texted her, but it didn’t go through. I think she blocked me.” Tessa added.
Of course, she did. She was the one at fault yet she was the one blocking others. “Well, I ran into her again,” I informed them, taking a sip of my drink. “She’s the assistant to my new client so we’ll be meeting a lot.”
Their jaws fell.
“She’s what?” Lila asked slowly.
“My client’s assistant,” I repeated calmly, even though I felt anything but. “Marcus Grant’s assistant, to be precise.”
