For a few seconds, I forgot how to breathe.
It wasn’t just because she called me a w***e or implied I was jumping between two men. I knew damn well the criticism I’d get about that if our relationship ever went public.
I just didn’t know how the hell she knew I was involved with Nikolai.
Did he tell her?
He said they were open. Did he share these kinds of things with her? How close were they? If he was allowed to be with whoever, why did she sound jealous? Why was she acting maliciously?
I didn’t know whether to confirm or deny that I was seeing Nikolai too. It was supposed to be a secret for the next few months. At least, until he dissolved his engagement with her.
