I had no choice but to eat.
My stomach was growling and whatever he had injected in me had weakened me severely. If I wanted to be able to leave, I had to gather a bit of strength.
I was banking on the fact that Douglas didn’t want to hurt me so hopefully, the food wasn’t poisoned.
His reason for kidnapping me was pretty stupid, but I also hoped that was what he genuinely thought. He wanted to keep me away from Rafael and Nikolai. He wanted me to see that they didn’t care about me and that he was the only one who loved me.
I wanted to tell him that he wouldn’t tie me up like this if he loved me but I didn’t want to aggravate him. I didn’t know where we were and I didn’t know how far he was willing to go to make me understand his “love for me.”
