Sally sat on the bed, tears streaming down her face.
"But last night was supposed to be our mating night..." Sally couldn't bear the thought of losing another child.
The tears kept flowing as she sat there, her heart full of bitter pain.
Alpha Damien's cold eyes looked at her, watching the tears roll down her face. Annoyance flashed across his face.
Sally could see what he was thinking.
Certain obligations must be fulfilled, such as mate duties.
He reached for her feet and pulled her toward the bed.
"Lie down," he said.
Sally looked confused but did what he said. She lay back quietly, her eyes wide and hopeful as she looked up at him.
