My eyes widened as I stared at him, frozen in place. I forgot even the need to run. Maybe I never really wanted to escape. It would be like trying to outrun a storm.
Damien's eyes swept over me briefly before focusing on his brother. His cold gaze shifted as he said calmly, "Ethan, Aria is my woman now. She's signed a twenty-year contract with me. You should stop waiting for her. You'll never have her."
"Oh, just because you say she must be your woman for twenty years, she has to obey?" Ethan laughed, completely unafraid. "Besides, Aria is a person, not some object you can control. She has the right to freedom. And she doesn't owe you anything. Why keep her tied to you? What's your real plan? Going to repeat what happened three years ago?"
