"Exactly," Damien admitted, then added, "Didn't Ethan say that twenty-year agreement isn't legal? Then I'll just sign one that is. That should shut him up for good."
"But there's no benefit for you," I said seriously, staring at Damien. "Alpha Damien, think this through. For a woman you don't love who doesn't love you risking jail for bigamy... it's not worth it."
"Why isn't it worth it?"

"I don't need that," I shot back. "Besides, everyone in New York knows about Sally Rothwell. Even if we get married here, people won't accept our relationship. They'll still see me as your mistress. So—"
