  Author's pov   Alpha Damien followed her upstairs and wedged his foot into the door just as it was about to slam shut, easily stopping Aria from locking him out.   Through the narrow gap, he stared at the defiant woman inside, his face getting darker by the second.   "Aria," he said, his voice heavy with threat. "I trust you haven't forgotten your position here? You're nothing but a mistress, yet you dare shut me out. Where exactly did you find the nerve?"   Aria met his gaze without backing down, her voice ice cold.   "Thanks for the reminder, Alpha Damien. Anyone decent knows about mourning traditions. The pack follows these customs. During mourning, no one should be having fun. But pack rules only apply to wolves with honor, not monsters. Things like you don't count, do they?"
