The keycard smoothly touched the sensor, and the door slid open silently.
Aria's heart pounded as adrenaline flooded her system.
She eased the door open just wide enough to slip through, then took off toward the elevator, her bare feet silent against the plush hallway carpet.
[Holy s**t. Was escaping Alpha Damien really this easy?]
Her luck was almost too good to be true. The elevator doors opened instantly, sparing her the torture of waiting. She dove inside.
It was 10 a.m. Most hotel guests were still sleeping. The elevator stopped only twice before shooting down to the lobby.
The doors opened. She burst out, sprinting toward the entrance.
Maybe it was her bare feet. Maybe it was the fancy evening gown she still wore from last night's show.
