Alpha Damien hadn't come back for two days. Aria stayed home recovering from their last encounter.
She decided to visit the newspaper office to see her old colleague Elliot. She left early that morning. The security guard didn't care where she went anymore. He just stood around like decoration.
Aria took the bus. Rush hour meant no available taxis, and she wasn't fighting commuters for rides.
The bus was packed, but she squeezed in. After days of sitting around at home, even standing on a bumpy bus felt good.
The Press Building looked exactly the same. All of New York's major newspapers worked there.
Seeing it again made her heart race. This place used to be hers. Soon it would be again.
