Alpha Damien immediately told Oscar about his decision to proceed on foot.
Oscar looked shocked for a moment but quickly got it together.
"Yes, Alpha," he nodded firmly before turning to his men. "Pull over and get ready to move on foot. Now!"
It was already past 7 p.m., and the night was pitch black.
The storm had knocked out all street lights in the area.
Even with flashlights, they could barely see as they waded through flood waters of unknown depths.
Luckily, the initial stretch led uphill, allowing them to escape the worst of the flooding as they started running.
"Every minute counts," Alpha Damien growled. "We get to her before it's too late. That's all that matters."
But nature wasn't making it easy.
