Liona hid among the monsters until she received a message from Dagon. A bird-shaped monster delivered it to her.

Liona had seen Cira consume several monsters, but she had never tried it herself before, nor did she even know if she had the power to do it.
Liona ordered the nearest monster to merge and become an even larger one.
It obeyed her order by absorbing the nearest monster and doubling in size.
Liona had a large army, but they weren't strong enough to defeat the enemy; however, that wasn't her goal either. She just needed them to break the barrier and keep the enemy armies occupied, so they would be too busy to notice she had crossed the barrier.
