Cassian and Tarik continued along the path and when they reached the end of the road, they saw a huge tree in the middle, with a wide trunk, so wide that it was impossible to imagine how old that tree might be. Around it was a beautiful village, which was supposed to have been abandoned for years, but it didn't look neglected. The village appeared clean, with short grass and houses that seemed newly built.
"Wasn't it supposed to be abandoned?" Tarik asked, as he looked around.
"That's right, this place is supposed to be abandoned. My mother was the last guardian; when the other guardians died, she left the village, leaving it completely alone."
