A personality of its own

“Yes, my queen, she is a phoenix- a fire God,” the woman says as she looks at the small wristwatch in her hand causing Katherine to look behind her at the massive white and gold round-faced clock behind her. It was almost three which meant they had been here for more than two hours. God- what…! [And you say I can talk, huh. Maybe you should be the one being quiet now eh, not me] “Oscar told me to die in my dreams,” she challenges the mage who had not spoken to her about that ‘interpretation’. [He would not] ‘He did and you know this because you can sense everything about me- body dweller.’ “My Queen, I said to you that you need to forget about what you think you know about the supernatural. You are confusing yourself- your own thoughts.” [I like her] “You think it’s me being paranoid?” she questions the mage, a deep frown on her forehead. [I think so too. Maybe, the mage is onto something. Remember I can feel what you feel and yes, you are paranoid.] “No, I think maybe you know more than you know. I think your memory is blocked and your brain is trying to figure it out.” Blocked? Like a memory block? Katherine encouraged Ju, with another gesture of her hands for her to eat the sandwiches the maid had brought in an hour ago for them. Ju nods and picks up one taking a huge bite. [Yes, that would make sense.] ‘How would you know?’ “Are you talking to her now?” Ju, managed to say, though her mouth was full of bread and tuna. “You did this with your head,” and she moved her head a bit to the side to demonstrate how Katherine had tilted her head. “I can also speak with you if you wish,” Lilith moved her lips and Katherine’s eyes widened as well as Ju’s, whose jaw slackened. “Oh my. She can speak for you too?” Katherine’s eyes held horror when her hand raised in a fist, parallel to her head and her mouth said, “Together we move, together we aspire to succeed. Long live King Julian.” It was the motto of Demkas. Ju’s already alert structure, straighten more and she worded her thoughts, “It can move- tch- what?” “It? I was now ‘she’. Rude much?” Katherine wasn’t sure who was more surprised between her and the mage at the phoenix’s choice of words. This new-age way of speaking- the phoenix had been holding back from Katherine! [I haven’t. You just are too preoccupied with needless worry over my mate, who will not harm you.] “I am adjusting, as a deity, don’t you think I am more than capable of these simple matters?” Ju used the term ‘Fire God’ to describe the phoenix and the phoenix referred to itself as a deity. [I am not a God but to mere humans, I may seem as one. I am a God among humans, I guess. Is this the correct way to speak?] Katherine nodded her head and she could feel the creature is pleased with her words. [Creature, beast, monster… I feel as though you are intentionally insulting me, are you?] Ju is staring at her and Kat could see her furrow and knows that the mage is aware that they are conversing privately. Katherine could also see the woman is amazed. She reminded herself to check her words too when thinking or speaking of the bird- er deity. [I don’t take them as insults, I am what you say- I am a beast- no do not fear me, Katherine, I will never harm you- ever] Lilith reassures Kat as soon as fright started to build inside her again. [I am learning about your nature and your world through you and so I know what the world sees me as- a mythical creature. I don’t exist really except in folklore. I don’t intend to prove that I am real, my dear Katherine, have no fear.] ‘Anxiety.’ [Haven’t I given you space?] “Isn’t it rude to speak between yourself- this is so weird- when I am here in your presence my Queen?” Ju queried, mumbling the middle bit more to herself than to Kat, who shook her head as if to clear it. ‘Space? I have a permanent headache-‘ [My Queen, I have stifled my inner want of my mate to respect your unattraction towards him- might I add that I don’t get it for he is a remarkable specimen to feast one’s eyes on but I respect you that much.] ‘Wow, What a personality.’ “She’s saying that she’s-” [I would appreciate total confidentiality in whatever you and I speak of] “-is learning our way of life and she’s adapting to it,” Katherine finished. She was about to tell the mage Lilith had said she was a deity and not a God- whatever is the difference anyway. [Deity is not a God. A God made me] Lilith’s words sank in and Kat took on a different thinking. ‘A what now? A? As in more than one?’ “Oh, that’s great- I guess. Cell phones and smart TVs and such,” the mage bobbed her head, in the same manner, Kat had felt earlier when she found out the bird- Lilith had been absorbing her new world. Her learning speed was miraculous but then again, she is a deity and had Katherine’s mind and memories to work with. “You should see her with the lights,” Kat offered up to Ju who nodded slowly. Lilith had driven Katherine almost to the brink of frustration with the flickering on and off with the lights. Specifically, the chandeliers. The shower was another place of amazement for her and the kitchen as well, with all the electronics- don’t even get her to talk about hairstyles and the utensils used for them. She looked like a complete loony to the maids and was very surprised that Oscar hadn’t figured it out by now, particularly the way the castle staff gossiped- something must have reached his ears she feared…but nothing till today. [As stated yes. I am a divine being- er, sacred, yes? With powers greater than those of ordinary humans, but who interact with humans] “Yes, she is so smart,” Katherine answered Ju, who took another hesitant bite of her sandwich, watching her. ‘So God.’ [Perhaps God-like? I am not an eternal creator. Pythios, the sun God is my creator.] But Kat was still thinking about the admission of Lilith; holding back on her want for her husband. Yes, she really had been in such fear that Kat hadn’t even realized that she was not feeling an attraction towards Oscar the last few times they’d been in each other’s presence. ‘You kept the craving of him you have limited because of me?’ [Limited? Doesn’t that mean a little bit? More like on hold- there is only so much I can do but when I can’t hold it in anymore…] ‘But why, when you-‘ [Because, my dear, you said he repulsed you- there is nothing as worst that being forced into something when everything in you fights against it] And as wonders would have it, she overheard one of the guards outside the heavy doors, “Captain of the guards, Sir Anthony-” She only heard his name and something brightened inside her.
