Anthony’s POV
“We’ll launch an offensive, but carefully,” Oscar said, his voice measured. “We can’t afford a misstep. Kim Yeon, I want you to continue the investigation into the guards. I need to know who can be trusted.”
Yeon’s loyalty was unwavering. “Consider it done, Your Majesty.”
Oscar turned his attention to Mica. “No one comes or goes without my express permission. I don’t care who they are.”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” Mica replied with a sharp nod, and Oscar dismissed them all except for Yeon and Anthony. The true blood, Ethan remained and it irritated him. He'd only just gotten used to his new abilities, and he had to pretend to be a regular human again. Plus, he had almost slipped earlier too but he caught himself in time when he saw the king's widened eyes.
