Eric laughed at the scene happening on the screen in front of him, but on the inside, he was still catching his breath from whirlwind events. His thoughts drifted to Ju, again. He found himself torn between admiration and suspicion, partly due to the attraction he’d often dismissed as hopeless for the mage and his sensible side- more cautious.
But she was in love with the captain of the guards. A man he used to call uncle, growing up.
