Flopping into the armchair in Amos’ office, I let out a sigh of relief as the others file in and find places to sit as well. Uncle Marv and Aunt Cynthia chose to remain standing, weariness in their eyes, and Liora and Seth chose to sit on the sofa pressed against the office’s far wall.
Maya and Dan had said they needed a day to relax, so it was just the six of us in Amos’ office as we waited for Amos to pull up the audio that Dan had gotten from the ball. Apparently, Kendrik had been called here for a reason by Rose, and from what Amos has told me, that reason was to take Ember back and use her as a breeder.
I asked Amos to share the audio Dan had captured of Kendrik talking to some unknown wolves. He complied, and soon, the room was filled with Kendrik’s voice.
