Sitting in the dining hall, a mug of hot chocolate in my hand, I watch as Devon refills the buffet table. He has grown thinner since last week when he, Seth, and I visited him the day after finding out he and Ash are mates. He sang like a canary that day, explaining Kazil’ plans in detail to us, including how he wanted Seth and me dead so that the pup Caroline carries would not have to worry about Seth staking a claim to Stormclaw.
Ash remained silent the whole time, watching Devon for any hint of a lie. Thankfully for him, Devon was truthful and even suggested methods of hacking into Stormclaw’s cell phone network to help us spy on Kazil and Caroline.
