Caleb said nothing. Because this was not surrender. This was strategy. She slid off the bed gracefully, her movements fluid as she stepped closer, stopping just short of him, her eyes searching his face once more. “Give me a little time to arrange myself,” she said, her voice softer now, almost pleased. “I’ll make sure it’s worth it.” Caleb inclined his head slightly. “Take your time.” And just like that— She turned. And walked out of his room. The door closed behind her. Silence fell again. And the moment it did— Caleb’s composure cracked. “Enough Chaos, I can’t fight you every step of the way,” he growled under his breath, running a hand through his hair as he turned sharply away, tension snapping back into his body like a tightened wire. Chaos surged forward immediately.
