Vaden and Sofia strolled out of their shared bedroom, their hands lightly brushing as they walked down the hallway. Sofia’s heart felt heavier with each step. While her bond with Vaden was unshakable and deeply fulfilling, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness at the thought of leaving the Blackwood Pack. Over the past few weeks, she had developed a genuine friendship with Alice, a rarity for Sofia given her reserved nature. Alice’s infectious energy and unwavering loyalty had broken through her walls, and now the thought of parting ways left her chest tight.
“Are you okay?” Vaden’s deep voice cut through her thoughts, his golden eyes flicking to her with concern.
She smiled softly, squeezing his arm. “I’ll be fine. Just... I’ll miss Alice, that’s all.”
