Cree and Jay have been avoiding Edee since she woke up from fainting. Jay went outside pretending to trim some hedges. Cree is looking out the window at him, talking with two of their neighbors. She’s upset because Chrissie is one of the women, and she cussed out the day they moved away. Cree is sure the woman is enjoying this moment.
“Who are you calling a jerk?” Edee is standing beside her, looking out the window.
Cree jumps, looking at Edee, “That woman. Damn, how long have you been in here?”
“Oh, I’ve never liked her ass. She’s too pretty to be trusted.” Edee turns her nose up
“Is it because she and Jiyan were dating?” Cree points at Chrissie, “If I’m not mistaken, they were dating when you got pregnant.”
