I was half in shock, half in fear. I was afraid that the fall would hurt the baby. I know the doctors had said that I wasn’t experiencing any abdominal pain, but I still felt afraid. I felt a little more reassured when Daniel said the same thing.
All I want is to be excited about this baby. We have been trying for nearly a year, ever since I stopped taking birth control. But until I know the baby is fine and healthy, I just can’t bring myself to be too excited.
With the doctor and nurse back in the room, readying to do the ultrasound, I tried to relax, but it was a struggle. I think I would have been hyperventilating if it wasn’t for Daniel, clutching my hand. Daniel has always been my rock.
