Julian looked at the medical papers as though they were something I had stolen from him. He demanded to know exactly what I had told the hospital staff. I had answered enough questions already, and I wasn't going to explain myself to him. I moved toward the doorway, wanting to return to my room.
"You're not going anywhere until you answer me."
"I told them you assaulted me."
"Did you mention my name?"
"Of course I did."
Camille covered her mouth and looked at Julian. I could see that she was frightened about what people might think of him. Neither of them had asked whether I was injured. I wondered how anyone could be so cruel.
"Livia, do you understand what you've done?"
"I went to the hospital."
"You've made a serious accusation against my husband."
