By that point I was desperate for my own release, but I was also incredibly intrigued by what might happen next. Of all Rachel's friends, Maya is my favorite. It took a while to get to know her, to get her comfortable around me, but once I was able to overcome her shyness, I realized how smart and funny she was and how entertaining she was to talk to.
