Then Kathy reached for her phone, which was lying on a bedside table. Still holding Simon to her boob, where he eagerly carried on sucking, she scrolled briefly through her contacts, and then called someone. She held the phone to her ear.
"Hi Angela," she said brightly. "How are things?"
